Origins of the Blazer 
Blazers do not have a long history, as men's blazers only first emerged into the fashion world in the 1800s. They would commonly be worn by rich English men, for example the rowers at Oxford and Cambridge would more often wear these types of jackets during they practice time. The original designs are much different to the more modern styles seen today. Back then, blazers didn't have the details that most of them have today for example shoulder pads or lining in the back. Their designs mostly consisted of buttons and bright colours. But obviously the blazer's influence over time grew far beyond this small demographic. Oarsmen began to wear their blazers around campus, and it started to become more popular as more people wanted to emphasize their status, and in 1952, the blazer finally made its editorial debut.
